The Inno di San Giove Rosso Toscano IGT 2021 (often referred to simply as “Inno”) is an innovative, 100% Sangiovese red wine produced by the Certosa di Belriguardo estate. This vintage is noted for balancing Tuscan tradition with a modern, fresh approach, resulting in a medium-bodied wine with elegant berries and a juicy finish.

Wine Profile and Composition

Unlike some “Super Tuscans” that blend international varieties, the Inno is a pure expression of the region’s signature grape.

• Grapes: 100% Sangiovese. It is uniquely crafted by uniting two different Sangiovese wines from vineyards with varying ages and soil types.
• Alcohol Content: 13.5% ABV.
• Origin: Produced in the hills around Siena, specifically within the Chianti dei Colli Senesi area.

Sensory Characteristics

• Appearance: A deep, bright ruby red.
• Aroma: Fresh and flowery, featuring prominent scents of violets and red fruits, specifically sour cherries, plums, and pomegranate. Smoked olives and dried herbs.
• Palate: Fresh and crunchy with nicely chewy tannins and a sappy finish. It is generally characterized by round acidity and harmonious tannins.

Winemaking and Aging

The production process is designed to highlight the grape’s natural freshness while adding depth through measured wood contact.

• Fermentation: Vinified in stainless steel tanks for approximately 3 months, with maceration on the skins for about 10 days.
• Aging: Matured for 6 months in used French oak barrels. This “careful wood maturation” is intended to soften the wine without weighing down its body.
